A Live Lecture Experience.
Welcome to the barely-fictional world of the University of Harbridge, where IRL lecturers are being phased out by automated, AI-fed, photo-real avatars.
Take a seat as a student of the left-field, old-school lecturer Dr Imogen Blake. Hear what she has to say about the future of education… Or what she would say if her digital twin didn’t keep interupting!
This 75-minute interactive performance lecture is one result of our 2-year deep dive into some interesting & troubling questions about the future of avatars in academic institutions.
How will avatars impact universities, teachers, students, cities? Do they change the fundamental nature of knowledge?
Brain Rot is a close collaboration with Professor Richard Owen & the ‘Cyber Security Everywhere’ Centre for Doctoral Training at Universities of Bristol & Bath. The work is funded by EPSRC.
In addition to Brain Rot, the collaboration has also produced The Digital Scholar, a 25-minute mockumentary about the same subject.
