The Green Roofs

Look at Bath from any angle and chances are you’ll notice, nestled in amongst the Georgian stonework, some long lime-green strips of copper roofing….

Welcome to The Green Roofs: home of Kilter’s 2011-2014 durational project!

OPPORTUNITIES: We are currently looking for local participants to get involved in the Green Roofs.  If you love a) the area, b) making a difference and c) making theatre, we’ve got something for you.

We are currently seeking…
1/ People to join our CHOIR! If you don’t believe you can really sing, it doesn’t really matter. An enthusiasm to join in is what counts. We will meet once a week at the shop and sing all manner of wonderful sounding things.
2/ Songwriters & Musicians for our monthly meetings to share music about Snow Hill & the London Road. Look out for the next date on our Facebook page.
3/ Poets and lyricists to pen words to be made into music by the songwriters for the choir! Ideally about London Road/Snow Hill but thematic relevance is also fine: journeys, hope, the future etc!

For all of the above, contact caroline@kiltertheatre.org

2011: The Green Roofs project kicked off with a series of FREE creative workshops. The workshops used a range of Kilteresque techniques to explore the past, present and future of The London Road and Snow Hill.

We are delighted to have involved some brilliant collaborators for the project including local historians, photographers, published creative writers and internationally renowned musicians!

All workshops were open to anyone who wanted to join in for the whole journey or just for one or two of the sessions that most suited them. It is your chance to be creative and have your say!

The Green Roofs Head Quarters is at the ex-Bespoke Kitchens shop on the London Road right opposite Snow Hill in Bath – a fantastic location to meet and showcase the project, which has very kindly been lent to us by the owners. All workshops take place here or begin here if they are outdoor activities.
