Story Friday

Story Friday hits YouTube!

In the firm conviction that stories will always find a way to save the day, we decided to press ahead with our planned Story Friday fixtures during this time of lockdown. For the first month at home, we shared stories on a rolling theme of Dark Clouds, Silver Linings and received daily submissions from writers across the country. During the third month of lockdown we moved on and started welcoming stories on the theme of A Breath of Fresh Air.

All the stories are recorded by socially-distanced actors at home and are available to watch on our dedicated Story Friday YouTube channel (or click on the links below to watch by date).

Story Fridays in normal times…

Six or seven writer-performers reading freshly minted stories inspired by a theme.

Story Fridays are held every other month and run in collaboration with our friends A Word in Your Ear.

Each time, we publish a theme and writers across the country respond in droves.  We have a hard time whittling out a selection and then curate a mini-series that works well together to be read aloud in the bijou environs of Burdall’s Yard in Bath.

It’s a fantastic night out. We often manage to scrape together some live music and some themed snacks. And the bar is always well stocked!

We are always looking for talented writers to contribute stories. If you’d like to be considered, do get in touch (contact details below).

Since 2011 we have been recording all the stories that we have heard out loud. It’s now a mammoth archive, available for you to enjoy…
