Performance Expansion

As part of Bristol+Bath’s Creative R&D Pathfinder, our Director Olly has been appointed an ‘Expanded Performance’ Fellow.

From May 2020 – April 2021, Olly joins a fantastic cohort of cutting edge artists, academics, technologists and other industry partners to consider how emerging digital technologies can be embraced by theatre, which defines itself with words like ‘live’ and ‘together’.

We have a strong track record for engaging audiences in a number of ways across a protracted period of time, so Olly’s research is looking at the relationship between current practice and future possibilities.

In particular Olly is working with the egg to consider how young people interact with technology in a theatrical setting.

If all of this interests you and you would like to keep right up to speed with how things are going and ways to get involved, or if you are just wondering what ‘performance expansion’ even means, then you might be interested in reading Olly’s blog about the process which is coming soon!

In the meantime, get in touch with Olly at olly@kiltertheatre.org for further information about the project.
