WhatWeDo

Kilter is a sustainable theatre company that consists of experienced theatre practitioners and professionals in the field of sustainable development.

We specialise in creating site-specific, devised theatre that engages audiences in issues surrounding the environment, social justice and English heritage.  Our work is mainly focussed in the city of Bath. We also offer creative communications services and training to organisations.

Mission statement

Kilter aims to redefine theatre as a widely accessible, participatory, change driving experience. To physically and mentally involve the audience, igniting their imaginations, encouraging debate and positive change for themselves, their community and the rest of the world.  This will be achieved through the development of an economically and environmentally sustainable business.

Site specific and experiential Theatre: Kilter has so far devised and produced three full length productions - Remote Patrol performed in the Bath Abbey Cemetery, Back on Track, on the Bristol-Bath Railway Path and most recently Roots at the Bath Organic Group Allotments. Back in the Bike Shed was an accompanying exhibition for Back on Track.

Children: We've also created The Little Month, a theatrical treasure trail around Bath.  It was commissioned by the egg for their family theatre festival.

Corporate: Kilter can help your business to communicate in a new and unforgettable way.  Through bespoke creations, interative theatre or film we can help you get to the hearts and minds of your audience.  We also offer training courses in creative brainstorming, presentation technique and networking skills.

Workshops: Kilter provides workshops at variable rates for between 2 hours and 2 days. Choose between Making Site Responsive Theatre & Making Issue Theatre Without Preaching.

Research: Everything Must Go! provides an enquiry into consumerism and ways of communicating the issue through immersive theatre.
