You’ve got a perfect body. Yes, you! Step inside The Cubicle, where you are perfect just the way you are.

Following its successful debut at the Bath Fringe Festival this summer, our curious and provocative Cubicle installation is returning to Bath!

Developed in collaboration with University of Bath body image researchers, The Cubicle is designed to make you feel more body positive in the face of constant media pressure to struggle for an unrealistic ideal. It doesn’t matter if you’re tall, short, bulging, skinny, hairy, bald, fresh-faced or wrinkly – you can still enjoy all your body has to offer! Sing! Stretch! Dance! Laugh! Dream! Breathe!

On display at 44AD artspace, it will be accompanied by a short documentary film recounting the process of its creation, and Dr Melissa Atkinson, Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Bath, will be on hand to chat about the impact of this arts-science collaboration on her practice.

The Cubicle is returning as part of FUTURES, a series of free events taking place across Bath and Bristol, organised by the University of Bath, Bath Spa University and University of Bristol for European Researchers’ Night 2018. European Researchers’ Night is a programme funded by the European Commission with the aim of engaging the public in celebrating the latest and most innovative research at a local and an international level. FUTURES is one of over 300 events taking place in cities spanning 27 European countries.
