Traditional carol singing meets story Deliveroo!

Gather your loved ones, heat up some mince pies, pour a glass of sherry, and cosy up for your very own private story performance.

With the firm belief that Christmas should be special whatever is going on in the world outside, we have teamed up with regular collaborators A Word In Your Ear to bring brand new festive stories by local writers direct to your front door.

Choose from our varied menu of tinsel tales and yuletide yarns and we will arrange for an actor to perform your chosen story for your household one evening in December. There is something to suit every taste, but all of our stories will offer a warm, feel-good factor to keep out the chill as the days get darker.

Listen here for a taste of some of the stories!

£20 (+ booking fee) per performance. Buy one get one half price on all stories!

Maximum of 5 people per performance.

If you would like a story but are self-isolating, shielding or based the other side of the country, we are offering Telephone Tinsel Tales! For a ticket of £10 an actor will read a story down the phone to you or a loved one on an evening in December. Book your Telephone Tinsel Tale here.

Practical information

This event is open to residents living within a 4 mile radius of Bath Abbey.

All performances will take place between Thursday 10 and Saturday 19 December, and between 4pm and 9pm. The running time of the whole experience is approximately 20 minutes.

The event has been organised in line with current Government COVID-19 guidance for an area in Tier 2 and will be reviewed continually. Actors will arrive wearing a mask, and will stand a minimum of 3 metres from your front door whilst performing (without a mask). A maximum of 5 audience members plus the actor are permitted to gather for the performance.

Further practical information will be provided on booking.
